Handling Social Security Disability Claims for Our Vermont Workers’ Compensation and Personal Injury Clients
Since 2004, I’ve worked at BFS as a paralegal specializing in social security disability law. , with a focus on working with clients and their claims once a hearing has been scheduled. From filing the initial SSDI application to preparing the case for a hearing, I work closely with attorney Kelly Massicotte to ensure our workers’ compensation and personal injury clients are also supported in their Social Security disability claim process. For the clients that may not need representation in their SSDI claim, I am still available to answer general questions about the SSDI disability claim process here in Vermont. I know the SSDI process well, and it gives me a lot of satisfaction when I can help our clients secure SSDI benefits.
Previously I workedas a counselor in a hospital setting, counseling patients in the rehabilitation, skilled nursing, cardiac, emergency, and hospice units. In my college days, I also worked as a member of staff for organizations that provided recreational activities to children and adults with mental health and/or physical impairments. I chose to change career directions to the legal field in 2004 and discovered that BFS, a law firm devoted to helping the injured and disabled, was a great fit for incorporating my past experience into legal work.
I am a native of southern New Hampshire and moved to Vermont in 2004. I love spending time with my three adult children and my friends and also enjoy outdoor sports and activities.
"At BFS, I work with great people and all of us care so much about our clients."
"Not only a professional relationship; a friendship was created. Your guidance through the process of my injury and recovery was extremely important. Thank you Kelly, Tasha, and team!"
