Attorney Groff To Lead Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Group

2025 President of National Trial Lawyers Top 25 Workers' Compensation Lawyers
Heidi Groff will lead the NTL Top 25 Workers' Comp Lawyers in 2025

Attorney Heidi Groff will serve as president of the National Trial Lawyers Top 25 Workers’ Compensation Lawyers group in 2025. She was nominated for the position based on her elevated level of experience and ability in the field of workers’ compensation law.

The National Trial Lawyers (NTL) is a professional association that provides advocacy training, networking opportunities, and educational conferences for trial attorneys. It offers invitation-only membership in specialty associations to the top attorneys in different areas of law. The Top 25 Workers’ Compensation Lawyers group is a specialty association for leading workers’ compensation trial lawyers.

As the 2025 president, Heidi will help to grow the group and further its mission. Heidi said, “I am honored to be chosen to lead the NTL workers’ compensation group this year. A work injury is always a surprise, and it is a devastating event for the whole family. Everything stops. I believe it is essential to maintain the safety net of workers’ compensation benefits that help vulnerable workers stay afloat after an injury.

“This year, I am championing legislation at the Vermont Statehouse that will require insurers to provide nurse case managers to help injured workers access medical treatment, when needed, and also to provide interpreter services when an injured worker does not speak English. I am also working on new rules that would ensure access to occupational medicine here in Vermont for our clients, a very important thing.

“For the last two decades these programs have been shrinking or closing, and it is crucial to make sure that injured workers are able to get quality health care with doctors who understand the issues unique to work injuries, like helping with causation letters and return-to-work issues. As the president of the Top 25 group, I plan to discuss these issue with my fellow members to see how we can work together and share strategies to make our states’ workers’ compensation systems better for injured workers."

Since she started at Biggam Fox Skinner as an associate attorney in March 1999, Heidi has represented hundreds of Vermonters in their workers’ compensation and personal injury claims. She quickly learned the complexities of the Vermont workers’ compensation system, and in January 2003 she became a partner of the firm.

She is known for being persistent, feisty, passionate, hardworking, caring, effective, and aggressive. Her clients appreciate that she is willing to fight for them, and they know she won’t give up until she gets justice for them.

Congratulations on being selected to lead the Top 25 Workers’ Compensation Lawyers in 2025!
